For our 6th destination in our Best Places to Live in Palm Beach County | Unveiling My Favorite 10 Destinations blog series, we arrive at our second village and Florida’s Equestrian Capital. Founded in 1953, Wellington transformed from waterlogged farmland into one of Florida’s most affluent and renowned villages. Officially incorporated in 1995, it’s now the most populous village in Florida, with around 60,000 residents. This village boasts excellent school systems and numerous recreational opportunities and was voted Top 100 Best Places to Live' in both 2010 and 2019 by Money Magazine
A Global Equestrian Hub
Known as the Equestrian Capital of the World, Wellington is a mecca for horse lovers. With over 580 farms dedicated to various equestrian disciplines like polo, dressage, hunter/jumper, and recreational riding, Wellington’s influence on the horse world is unparalleled. The village boasts an elaborate trail system of more than 57 miles for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
